The effects of a human influenza pandemic on business would be immense - community fear, reduced travel, increased absenteeism, quarantine orders, closure of schools and the effect on parents and their ability to work, delays in supply of goods, inability of suppliers to meet commitments, social distancing and the list goes on. The Queensland Government has been working with industry to help plan for the effects a flu pandemic could have on your business and encourages all businesses to be prepared. You can do this by firstly finding out more about pandemic flu, how it could impact you and the steps you can take now and at the time of any outbreak.
