QTIC Micro-Credentials

The Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC) endorsed micro-credentials offers alternative current skilling solutions that provides direct benefit to tourism and hospitality businesses, and their workforce.
The program aims to provide an opportunity to support changing workplaces by enabling the provision of focused training in specific skills to better support employees and businesses to adopt innovations and improved productivity.

The Queensland Government allocated $3,000,000 (GST Excl) from the Growing Tourism Infrastructure (GTI) Fund to deliver a business capability development program for the tourism industry over a three year period from August 2018 – June 2021. The objective of the program is to practically assist the Queensland’s tourism industry to build its capability so businesses are more competitive, adaptive and resilient and visitors can enjoy a consistently high standard of experience across the state.

Tourism Industry Business Capability Development Program

The 2020-2021 Queensland Tourism Industry Business Capability Program (TIBCP) will offer four live webinars delivered by tourism industry specialists that will commence early July 2020, on the following topics:
- COVID reopening preparation,
- Pivoting product and innovation,
- Domestic trade and distribution, and
- Domestic marketing.
Businesses that unable to participate in the live webinars will be able to locate and view the recorded webinars from the QTIC website.
Four sessions of one-one-one online coaching will be available to eligible tourism and hospitality businesses that have participated in or viewed, one or more of the four webinars outlined above.

The COVID Clean Practicing Business program is a FREE checklist for tourism businesses.
COVID Clean has been designed to support businesses in their efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19 and to provide an assurance to visitors that these steps are being taken. It acts as a checklist that will guide tourism businesses through the recommended steps to return to business. It is designed to be in compliance with QLD Health directives, and recommended Workplace Health & Safety and infection control standards and has been specifically tailored for tourism businesses.
