Tropical North Queensland 

 Dreamtime Dive & Snorkel 

WHAT: Dreamtime Dive & Snorkel invites you to immerse yourself on a full day tour of the Great Barrier Reef where Indigenous Sea Rangers recount the Dreamtime stories of the Gimuy Walubara Yidinji, Gunggandji, Mandingalbay and Yirrganydji people. The sea country of these four Traditional Owner groups stretches from Port Douglas to the Frankland Islands and includes the two amazing outer reef locations that you will visit during the tour. Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea is provided.

WHEN: Tour departs Cairns Marlin Jetty at 8:00 AM and returns to the Cairns Marlin Jetty at 4:30 PM.

 Mandingalbay Ancient Indigenous Tours 

WHAT: The Mandingalbay Yidinji Eco Cultural Tour begins at the Cairns Reef Terminal and glides across Trinity Inlet and up Hills Creek to where the salty water of the sea meets freshwater flowing off the surrounding mountains. Enjoy an authentic Mandingalbay Yidinji welcome and cleansing smoking ceremony before embarking on a 20-minute guided walk through the Mandingalbay Yidinji lands discovering the abundance of food and medicinal plants used for sustenance and healing.  

The tour includes some light refreshments. Closed in, flat footwear is advised along with comfortable sun safe clothing and water bottles.

The Pamagirri Aboriginal Experience 

WHAT: Join local Indigenous Pamagirri Guides on a journey to discover the Dreamtime and learn about the fascinating customs and ancient traditions that are kept alive in the rainforest of Kuranda, in Tropical North Queensland. The Pamagirri Aboriginal Experience combines the Dreamtime Walkabout, a 30-minute introduction to the Didgeridoo, traditional spear throwing and boomerang throwing lessons, with the Dance Show, a 30-minute performance by Pamagirri Dancers. You will also be able to enjoy a 45-minute Rainforest Walkabout where you will be taken on foot into the Rainforest to learn more about the traditions of local Indigenous peoples.

The Pamagirri Dance Show starts at 12PM daily. Participants would need to be present at that time to see the Show.

 Walkabout Cultural Adventures 

WHAT: Experience a half day cultural adventure in the Port Douglas Daintree region with Juan Walker and his team at Walkabout Cultural Adventures. Aboriginal guides explore Kuku Yalanji country, the only place where two world heritage sites meet, the Daintree Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef and share the cultural connection the people have with their land. You will learn about the environment, different bush foods and medicines and sample some seasonal bush tucker while appreciating the history, culture and traditions of our Australian Aboriginal people.  

This tour requires a minimum of two people.

 Mungalla Aboriginal Tours 

WHAT: Connect with the Nywaigi Aboriginal culture by embarking on a tour of the Mungalla Station Homestead. Here you can examine artefacts, learn about the past of the Nywaigi people and visit the original homestead site where you will hear the pioneering stories of the first white settlers and view old photos of this historic site.

 Whitsunday Paradise Explorer 

WHAT: Immerse yourself in a unique experience with your own Ngaro Indigenous Guide - learn about the history of these ancient island sea people, their customs and how they hunted and sourced “bush tucker”.
