QTIC will be holding regional consultations across the state in June to develop the First Nations Tourism Potential Plan for Queensland. QTIC would like to invite Traditional Owners, elders and Indigenous businesses to the first session. You must meet one of the following requirements to attend this session. The first session will be specifically for First Nations tourism operators who: - Must live in Queensland; - Own or work for an entity that operates in Queensland; - Must be a majority Aboriginal owned tourism business located in Queensland and selling a tourism product directly to the consumer; - Responsible for business development and/or planning for a First Nation or Aboriginal organisation that represents First Nation traditional owner group/PBC - Involved with planning or assessing tourism as a means for community and/or cultural development; - An elder or other person that is/has been involved with planning or approving cultural development for tourism - A person who is considered a key influencer in community economic development/tourism. When: Friday 14 June 2019 Time: 9am - 12pm Where: Novotel Surfers Paradise This plan is managed and driven by First Nations people and is supported by QTIC and the Indigenous Champions Network. If you are unable to attend the consultations and want to be involved, you will be able to have your input via our survey.
