We're currently calling for expressions of interest (EOI) from those wanting to be a part of the 2019 Queensland Tourism Awards (QTA) judging panel. Build your networks, learn from other tourism professionals and become part of a friendly community – all while experiencing some of Queensland's best tourism operators.

The Awards
First held in 1985, the annual QTA acknowledge and showcase excellence within the Queensland's tourism industry. The Awards cover 30 categories across the areas of attractions, events, tour and transport, accommodation, restaurants, ecotourism, marketing and more.

The Judging
The objective of the QTA judging process is to fairly and independently evaluate each entry through a formal process. QTA judges are required to carry out site inspections for entrants as well as assess written submissions.

Judging for the QTAs is enormously rewarding and a great way to contribute to the industry. The site visits and submissions are a great opportunity to see and experience the passion and resilience of operators across our vast state. It is both an honour and privilege to be part of a program that enhances Queensland's tourism competitiveness.

– Pierre Benckendorff, former Chair of Judges

"Being a judge for the Queensland Tourism Awards has been both rewarding and inspiring. Each year I continue to learn from a group of dedicated tourism professionals who are genuinely committed to the success of the Queensland tourism industry. The opportunities for networking and new adventures are truly unique. Certainly this is a big commitment in time but the personal and industry rewards are absolutely worth it."

– Elizabeth Hackett, QTA judge

Want to be a 2019 QTA Judge?
If you're interested in becoming a judge for the 2019 QTA, please first read the roles and responsibilities of a judge as well as the timeline and judging dates.
