Funding available for Pre-Apprenticeship Program

The Industry Pre-Apprenticeship program is a $2million investment by the Queensland government designed to align Queensland industry with government to prepare potential tradespeople for work in priority trade areas and provide employers with an opportunity to influence public investment in skills.

Funding is available for Industry organisations and employers seeking to prepare potential trade’s people to transition into an apprenticeship.  Programs are to be industry-led and support the completion of a national qualification allowing transition into an apprenticeship in a priority trade.  Successful organisations will be responsible for the coordination, management and implementation of the project and be completed in partnership with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) approved as a Pre-Qualified Supplier (PQS).

Applications for funding are now open for the 2016-17 programs and interested parties can view the assessment criteria and frequently asked questions on the Department of Education and Training’s website: https://training.qld.gov.au/employers/funding/apprenticeship/preindustry

Applications close at 5pm on 31 March 2017.
