Nominations for Queensland Training Awards Open

In 2017, the 56th Annual Queensland Training Awards will recognise Queensland’s best and brightest individuals and businesses who have demonstrated excellence in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector.

The Queensland Training Awards is the highest accolade for the VET Sector and celebrates the top achievers across the state through a series of regional finals, culminating with the State Final on Friday 1 September 2017.

In 2017, two new categories are available to be contested at the regional and state levels.  The Equity VET Student of the Year award is open to VET Students who have experienced a significant barrier or disadvantage to effectively participate in VET such as low level education, disability, and linguistically diverse backgrounds.  The Community Training Initiative of the Year award is open to community-based not-for-profit organisations that provide assistance to Queenslanders who need support to gain the skills, experience and VET qualifications required to enter and stay in the workforce.

Nominations are now open for the 14 Award Categories including apprentices, trainees, VET Students, teachers and trainers, training providers, community organisations and employers.  Benefits of winning a Queensland Training Award include a career boost for individuals, raising the profile of organisations and positioning them as an employer or training provider of choice.

If you have achieved success through training, or know of someone who has, share the success and nominate now by heading to the Queensland Training Awards website: https://training.qld.gov.au/qta/home

Nominations close on Friday 31 March, 2017.
