The Star Ratings program is an internationally recognised quality standard for accommodation, used in over 70 countries. It evaluates the cleanliness, quality, and condition of guest facilities through independent assessment based on industry best practices.
Accredited accommodation providers are awarded an official Star Rating and the exclusive right to display the trademarked Star Ratings symbol, giving consumers confidence in a consistent level of quality.
Ratings are awarded across six accommodation categories: Hotels, Motels, Serviced Apartments, Hosted Accommodation, Caravan Holiday Parks, and Self Catering properties.
What do the Star Ratings mean?
Star Ratings stand for independently reviewed quality standards and are easily defined and identified:

Properties offering luxury in all aspects, with extensive facilities, personalised services, and exceptional design and attention to detail.

Properties delivering a deluxe guest experience with wide-ranging facilities, superior design, and high service standards tailored to discerning guests.

Properties offering above-average amenities, with good quality service, design, and facilities that meet guest expectations.

Properties catering to budget-conscious travellers, offering limited services and facilities to maintain affordable, competitive rates, with extras available on request or for a fee.
