$2.6 million in training funds for tourism! Productivity Places Program (PPP)
$2.6 million in training funds for tourism and hospitality!  QTIC has secured a funding contract with the Department of Education and Training (DET) to broker training places for the industry under the Productivity Places Program (PPP).  The Commonwealth has not previously released training places for existing worker under PPP.  The key elements of the Queensland Tourism PPP strategy include:
  • The qualifications targeted will be at the Certificate IV, Diploma and Advanced Diploma level.
  • Employers and/or individuals will be required to contribute to the cost of training (around 15-20% of the total cost).
  • Training places will be available for individuals who work for organisations that demonstrate a commitment to staff development, through their human resource management practices, workforce development plans or training needs analysis, which provides a level of confidence that government investment in skills development for their staff will lead to productivity gains.
