Policy Submissions

Policy submissions are a key element of our advocacy work as they provide a formal platform to convey industry needs and priorities to key stakeholders and present evidence-based recommendations to support meaningful policy change.

2026 Submissions

QTIC provided a submission to the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Corporations and Financial Services’ Inquiry into the Provision, Regulation and Pricing of Modern Insurance Products for Small Businesses. Insurance has evolved into a significant threat to the viability of Queensland’s tourism-related small businesses, driven by rising premiums, prompting QTIC to call for Commonwealth-led structural reforms and resilience-linked policy changes rather than subsidies.

QTIC provided a State Budget Submission for 2026-27, urging targeted Queensland Government investment to strengthen tourism delivery ahead of Brisbane 2032, focusing on reducing business costs, transport and access, workforce stability, tourism infrastructure, First Nations tourism, and regional leadership to maximise jobs, resilience and long-term economic returns.

QTIC lodged a Submission to the Senate Standing Committee on Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport positioning aviation as essential infrastructure for regional Queensland and calling for targeted reform. Recommendations include Commonwealth support for regional airport security costs, a sustainability program, improved airfare transparency, a national aviation workforce strategy and alignment with Brisbane 2032 legacy planning.

QTIC provided a Federal Budget Submission for 2026-27, calling for targeted federal investment to unlock tourism growth ahead of Brisbane 2032, focusing on aviation access, workforce and housing, insurance reform, investment-ready infrastructure, sustainability, and First Nations tourism to drive national jobs, exports and regional development.

QTIC lodged a 2026-27 State Budget Submission, outlining practical measures to strengthen Queensland’s visitor economy ahead of the 2032 Games. This QTIC submission to the Queensland Parliament’s Inquiry into e-mobility safety and use urges investment in infrastructure, education, and policy clarity to enhance visitor experience and position Queensland as a national leader in active transport.
