Charting a Course for Success: Jackson’s Traineeship with GoBoats Brisbane

A Passion for Tourism in Action

Jackson Branchu, a Year 10 student from Ferny Grove State High School, is making waves in Brisbane’s tourism industry through his Certificate III in Tourism with GoBoats. Eager to gain hands-on, real-world experience, Jackson has quickly established himself as an inspiring young trainee determined to build a meaningful career in tourism.

From New Recruit to Valued Team Member

In just a short time, Jackson has proven that he’s much more than “the new recruit.” According to David Rose, Site Manager at GoBoats, Jackson has become an integral part of the team.

“Jackson is punctual, a great worker, has initiative and is open to learning all about maritime operations. Everything from tying knots, driving boats and all maintenance tasks. Jackson is great with our customers and although still a young man, makes the customers feel at ease and understand what is required of them. Jackson is making himself a real member of the GoBoats Brisbane team and is a delight to have around.”

Industry and Education Working Together

Jackson’s story is a shining example of what can be achieved when industry and education come together. Through opportunities like this, students can develop practical skills, build confidence, and make meaningful connections that prepare them for future success.

Good news stories like Jackson’s highlight how collaborative training programs help grow Queensland’s tourism and hospitality workforce, creating lasting benefits for students, employers, and the community alike.
