1. Host a student work experience placement
Provide students with hands-on industry experience and help them develop practical skills by offering short-term work placements. Work experience is a great way to introduce students to the fast-paced, rewarding world of tourism and hospitality.
2. Participate in industry presentations & guest speaker events
Share your expertise and insights by delivering guest lectures, demonstrations, or Q&A sessions at participating schools. Your real-world knowledge can ignite a passion for the industry and provide valuable career advice.
3. Offer site tours & behind-the-scenes experiences
Invite students and teachers to your business to give them a first-hand look at career pathways within the industry. Whether it’s a guided tour of your hotel, a behind-the-scenes experience at your attraction, or a kitchen demonstration, these visits provide invaluable insights.
4. Support teacher professional development
Help educators stay up to date with industry trends by hosting or participating in Gateway Days – professional development events designed to strengthen the connection between education and industry.
5. Provide sponsorship or in-kind support
Support the program by contributing sponsorships, prizes, scholarships, or in-kind donations such as venue space, equipment, or catering for events. Your business will gain exposure while investing in the future of the industry!
