Queensland Airports Limited confirms three-year sponsorship of the State’s Tourism Awards

25 August 2025

Queensland Airports Limited (QAL) has renewed its commitment to the Queensland Tourism Awards, signing a three-year sponsorship agreement with the Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC).

QAL has been a proud Presenting Partner of the Awards for 19 years, with 2025 marking the milestone of its 19th consecutive year of support. The Awards, celebrating their 40th year in 2025, are made possible through the generous backing of industry icons such as QAL.

QTIC CEO Natassia Wheeler said the enduring partnership reflects QAL’s long-term commitment to the state’s tourism industry.

“This year marks the 40th year of the Queensland Tourism Awards – a major milestone for our industry and an important opportunity to recognise the hard work and contribution of tourism businesses across the state,” Wheeler said.

“We are deeply grateful to Queensland Airports Limited for their long-term commitment in helping the Awards take place. Their support over nearly two decades has been vital in celebrating and elevating the people and businesses that make Queensland a world-class destination.”

QAL CEO Amelia Evans said the partnership is part of the organisation’s ongoing commitment to supporting Queensland’s tourism industry.

“As we look towards the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, it is more important than ever to celebrate and showcase Queensland’s tourism industry,” Evans said.

“Our ongoing commitment to the Queensland Tourism Awards reflects the pivotal role tourism plays in the state’s economy and communities, and we are proud to help shine a light on the industry’s achievements.”

The 2025 Queensland Tourism Awards will be held on Friday 14 November at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. The gala event is a highlight of Tourism Week, which also features two full day conferences on First Nations tourism and a forum on the future of tourism. Further details on the program for Tourism Week, including a refreshed format and ticketing, will be released soon.
