In celebration of this year’s World Environment Day, QTIC will host a webinar to inspire operators to consider the opportunities that the industry will have in making sustainability and the environment part of the recovery of tourism – a competitive edge for Queensland in particular. Presented with the support of Griffith University, this webinar will include discussion about current research and findings on innovation and sustainability and its role in supporting the industry through this crisis and beyond. There will be presentations from Leanne Kemp, Queensland Chief Entrepreneur and Prof Chris Fleming, Director - Griffith Institute for Tourism. Both of them respected experts in their field with plenty to say about the future, and how the industry can make the most of it. To provide useful operator insights Grant Cassidy, Managing Director - Cassidy Hospitality Group will outline how his business has rolled out a world class sustainability program. A leader in sustainability in the tourism industry, Grant will discuss the 'One Planet, Once Chance' program which he launched at the Empire Apartment Hotel property late last year. This QTIC event will be expertly facilitated by media and tourism personality, Sofie Formica. An opportunity for Q&A will follow the speakers presentations. Participants can submit questions prior to the webinar to events@qtic.com.au. Places are limited however a recording will be made available following the event.
