What is QTIC?

The Queensland Tourism Industry Council, or QTIC for short, is Queensland’s only peak industry body for tourism, hospitality and events.

We are committed to creating a sustainable and profitable industry where tourism businesses can thrive. We do this by advocating for the industry at all levels of government, and with industry bodies and sector organisations.

QTIC is independent, not-for-profit, and membership owned and led. We are trusted by our members to represent their issues and interests.

What does QTIC do?

Not only do we advocate for the industry but we also connect the industry, providing tourism operators across the state with the chance to network and create new business opportunities.

In addition, we provide direct support to tourism operators through a range of programs, funding, and resources, helping to strengthen local businesses, and the industry as a result.

Who can join QTIC?

QTIC membership is available for businesses, associations and individuals looking to connect with the tourism, hospitality and events in Queensland.

Why should I join QTIC?

By becoming a QTIC member you have the chance to contribute to Queensland’s tourism industry, advising on the issues that are important to you, and strengthening the state’s visitor economy.

Members can also take advantage of all the QTIC has to offer, with access to a range of benefits including training and development programs, exclusive networking opportunities, and member only resources such as the QTIC Grants Gateway.

By becoming a QTIC member, you are supporting us in supporting you. The annual membership fee you pay allows us to continue advocating for a stronger tourism industry.

More information on membership benefits can be found here.

What types of membership are available?

This year, to help you get the most out of QTIC’s programs, services and support, we are introducing a new membership structure.

We now offer six membership levels so you can get even more value out of your membership:

  • Corporate: This level is for those seeking to influence and lead Queensland's tourism industry. By becoming a corporate member, you will receive the highest level of benefits including exclusive support and tailored benefits.

  • Associations: This newly created category is for industry associations. Membership benefits are tailored to your organisation. Association members are invited to join QTIC’s Associations Council.

  • Tourism Champion: By becoming a Tourism Champion you will receive greater discounts on QTIC’s programs, access to a wider range of support services, and even more exclusive networking opportunities.

  • Tourism Advocate: This level is for those seeking to grow their business and expand their networks. As a Tourism Advocate you’ll have access to a range of programs, services and support, including a 25% discount on Quality Tourism Accreditation and Star Ratings Accreditation fees.

  • Tourism Supporter: Tourism Supporters will receive discounts on a range of programs and services, including a QTIC Member Welcome Pack, to promote their involvement with the industry.

  • Individual: We now offer membership for individuals and emerging professionals. This newly created category provides networking and development opportunities. Emerging members are eligible to apply for the QTIC Young Professional Mentoring Program.

When is the membership period?

Our membership period runs for 12 months, from 1 July to 30 June.

What is the cost of membership?

Membership is an annual investment for those who wish to improve their business and their industry. The cost of membership depends on the level you choose.

All membership levels will receive the same baseline benefits. Those with a higher membership level will receive a higher range of benefits, including exclusive support, tailored services, and further discounts.

The cost of 2023-24 membership has changed with the introduction of our new membership structure. Standard membership fees, including those for Tourism Champions, Advocates and Supporters, have increased by 10%. This is so we can continue to improve our services and act as the peak body for tourism in Queensland.
