Take a look at our April update below.

QTIC Micro-Credentials

The tourism industry, like the rest of the community, is facing exceptionally difficult times due to the impact of COVID-19. In the face of overwhelming adversity, the Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC) is fast-tracking the launch of a Micro-Credentialing program, which will provide skilling solutions for immediate benefit to tourism and hospitality businesses and their employees.

The project will provide 400 tourism and hospitality businesses and their staff with the opportunity to acquire specific skills, or micro-credentials, through a comprehensive online delivery platform. QTIC aims to reach at least 1,750 tourism and hospitality employees with this new tool.

Flexible Chef Apprenticeship

COVID-19 presents exceptionally difficult times for the tourism industry.  In the face of overwhelming adversity, the Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC) has several programs to continue engagement and skill development with the tourism workforce.

The QTIC, RTSP program was designed as a flexible cookery apprenticeship to permit participant mobility across the state.  The program provides participants the flexibility to continue their studies during periods of unemployment.

The program targets casual cooks wanting to gain the professional trade qualification, SIT30816 Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.  To date QTIC has qualified more than 150 professional cooks across Queensland with our partner RTOs.   If you would like to participate express your interest here or click here for more information.
