Rubyvale
The name gives a big hint of what Rubyvale has to offer but dig a little deep and you’ll discover there’s more to explore of this tiny town. Rubyvale sits on the Sapphire Gemfields, the largest sapphire-bearing area in the southern hemisphere and located in the Central Queensland Highlands. Being the largest of four Gemfields townships makes Rubyvale a natural choice as a base to tour the area. However, there’s no need to stray far to find adventure, which includes encounters with camels and rock wallabies, a fascinating journey underground, and a good old fashioned treasure hunt.
